Nursery na si Matt!

Uncategorized No Comments »

Estudyante na ang Matthew ko! Nursery cya sa St. Therese of the Child Jesus Kidz Academy.

June 08 — Orientation Day nila sa school

June 09 — First day of Classes; wala cyang Star headband; umuwing malungkot :(
June 10 — He got his first STAR from school. Shouting “Me star ako! Me star ako!” papasok ng gate.

Excited naman sa schooling. Natapos na namin ibrowse ung book niya. Nakapag-advance study na cya!

Although aware na cya sa tinuturo, Alphabets, Numbers, Colors & Shapes, he’s developing his socila skills naman.

Si Ryah, 6months na last June 18, parang kelan lang. Naggagapang at naggagabay na rin. Her 2 front lower teeth are now slowly emerging. Nagcerelac na rin cya. Excited kumain ang lokah! Nagagalit pag di nasundan agad ung subo, hahaha.

Yung house renovation, 70% complete na. Designed as we like. Tiles na lang sa 2nd floor and room division plus paint, then all is set. Excited na ang Joel tumira. Will post pictures soon :P

Meraeah, our baby girl, was born December 18, 2008 at around 7:36 in the morning through Ceasarian Section in Chinese General Hospital attended by Dra. Socorro Zamora, my OB-Gyne. She weighed 6 lbs and 15 oz and measured 48 cms in height.

We got the name Meraeah (pronounced as Me-ra-yeah) from the internet through a variation from the original French name Mireille which means ”to admire” or “miracle”. We just decided to spell it as pronounced to avoid confusions when calling her name.

She was baptized last February 1, 2009 at Parish of the Holy Family in Karuhatan, Valenzuela. View the pics at http://mtem27.multiply.com/photos/album/24/Ryahs_Baptism.

Baby Girl (daw) :P

We had my belly ultrasound last Saturday to check for the baby’s gender, and according to the technician, it’s a girl! :D
I asked, “Sure na po ba?”, worried there still might be changes. But she said, “Sure na.” Could be because, I’m already in my 32nd week?

Anyways, sana nga confirmed na, we’ll just wait when she arrives. :P

Our Fave Song

Matt’s singing this song with me, You’re My Number One by Sharon & kids for Nido’s commercial.

===============================

You’re My Number One

Look at me mom
Shining like the sun
Bright as the day
You’re my number one

And there’s no treasure
That I will cherish like you

And when I smile
They all see you glow
And they all know
You’re my number one

My one and only joy
Is to give you my love

(Bridge)
My one love for you
I give through and through
I see you and the signs that bring joy
That all the world can see so clearly

Look at me mom
Shining like the sun
Bright as the day
You’re my number one

Hay, life! 30 na, but still young at heart pa rin :P

My belly is now on its 5th month, more or less 100 days to go pa before the new baby arrives. Hasn’t gone for ultrasound yet to check for the gender. Sana lang, girl na!

Matt is half past his 2nd year na, involved na sa internet computer games at sa counter strike. Yeah, believe it or not, counter strike! Daig pa kaya ako??? He can’t sing yet the alphabet fully, but he already knows all the letters, even the Filipino alphabet. Knows his numbers up to 12, tsaka nga pala, 22 (the playhouse disney channel) and his colors. When he doesn’t know, simpleng "Mommy, NO ALAM!!!" lang naman ang reply nya (rolling eyes). He enjoys Naruto, laughs hard with Tom and Jerry. He still hymns with his nursery rhymes videoke. He’s starting to work with his writing, ang kasunduan, no sulat, no counter strike! Hindi naman ganon ka adik sa internet games, sa pc games, sa PSP games, pag wala nang ibang option, pwede na rin ung mga cellfone games! Hindi naman, hindi naman adik sa games!

Health issues? Still worried with my lung problem, huhuhu. Need to monitor my weight, because of the pregnancy, struggling to gain more, para di pa magmedicine til the baby is born. Wishing and praying to keep the virus stable for now, so it won’t get worse until I give birth sometime December-January.

We had a trip in Rainforest Park, in Pasig, last August 27. Didn’t enjoy much because of the rainshowers, though the park is nice. Some of the attractions are the Butterfly farm (with just a few species, not sure if that’s because of the weather), the Mini Zoo (where I get to see a deer, the Philippine deer, for the first time, sabi ko pa, reindeer! pagbalik namin, ay deer pala hindi reindeer, sabi ni Joel, reindeer yan kze umuulan, hahaha), the botanical garden, an ampitheater, some sports courts (basketball, tennis), and a pool. All in all, a nice park to go to for the family getaway once in a while.

Thanks nga pala for the best wishers last Wednesday, dun sa mga laging nakakaalala :P

Two Years Old Na Si Matt!

Uncategorized No Comments »

Matt has just turned 2 years old at 2:35pm this afternoon. Yesterday we celebrated his birthday together with his cousin, Arianne, who has turned 5 yesterday as well.

Aside from spaghetti, fried chicken and hotdogs-on-sticks, there were puto, pichie-pichie and lumpiang shanghai courtesy of Arianne’s mom.

Parlor games made the party more fun and enjoyable for Matt’s "friends", heheh. Gifts and loot bags were given to the winners.

View the party’s pics here.

We will be "countdowning" to 2008 tonight with barbecues, hotdog cues, fruits & some wine. Happy New Year everyone! :D

Software Freedom Day 2007

Uncategorized No Comments »

Software Freedom Day 2007 was celebrated last September 15, Saturday. This is a worldwide celebration of FOSS, Free Open Source Solutions. The event here in Manila was held at Advanced Science & Technology Institute in UP Campus, Diliman, Quezon City.

The Luzon Team of Promet Solutions attended the event. Programme include FOSS Awareness, Applications, Benefits, Online Demos, Basic Training/Tutorial of different successful open source applications including Apache, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Drupal, Ruby on Rails, Linux. Other open source applications under FOSS not discussed on the event are osCommerce, Zen Cart, Joomla and CakePHP.

It felt good attending seminars/trainings again after quite sometime now. The last one I had was in 2002. You get to mingle with people on the same field, discussing subjects you all have ideas and knowledge about. Sharing basic and complex information, learning new things you haven’t come across with and possibly a future contact to ask for help with :).

Belated Happy Software Freedom Day! :D

Shapes, shapes, shapes

Uncategorized No Comments »

Last Wednesday, August 22, while typhoon "Chedeng" was storming in Manila, Matt was brainstorming with his shapes puzzle. Shapes ranging from round to hexagon to flower-like with different bright colors and numbers on it.

The toy was almost a year already, but he kept on ignoring the shape characteristics of it. He just loved to shake it while the pieces are inside or taking them out and picking them to put back inside the cube-like container.

On that day, he was seated in front of it trying to insert the pieces on it’s corresponding holes. At first I need to guide him, where the exact shape on his hand will supposed to go. He gets irritated if he can’t insert the piece he’s holding. So I encouraged him to slowly turn the piece to match the edges so it can slip through.

The scenario went over and over again for the rest of the day. Slowly, he managed to slip the pieces inside, especially the few-edged ones. And I always need to attend to his calls whenever he can’t put the shapes in.

The next day, while watching Barney (again!) I put all the pieces on the sofa next to him along with the cube-shaped container. After a few minutes only 2 out of 10 pieces were left! I was surprised! I even tried getting the shapes back out again so I can see for myself that he did it all on his own (apart from the fact that we’re only the ones there, huh?). And he really did! He keeps on turning and turning the container so I know that he’s looking for the right hole to put the shape into. Bravo, Matt! Hahah!

Matt’s also into numbers, alphabets and naming things. He’s getting familiar with his alphabet book with things starting with each letter. He’s also learning to count and write. Can draw a not-so-round circle with his hand on air and on paper, or rather on his magic slate.

He knows where his nose, eyes and ears are now. When he heard "Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes, Knees and Toes", he’ll start pointing to all four parts but instead landing on the different parts of his body, heheh. He’ll point himself when asked "Asan si Matt?" or "Sino’ng pogi?" and can point where mom or dad or himself on our family picture.

Matt likes Barney so much now and he’s trying to follow the actions that goes with every song Barney and his friends are singing. He loves to party with his cousins! When he heard the intro of the "I’d like to move it, move it!" dance hit, he’ll find a way to dance! A skip is also included in his choreography now (dunno where he learned it, though).

You can even ask him to do little things like close the door, put his toys back to his toys’ basket, give something to someone, untie his dad’s shoestrings, turn off the fan.

Emotionally, he now knows how "magtampo", gets mad, insists (grabe, joel’s always saying "konting laki pa, Matt, konting laki pa ….", you all get what I mean? heheh) and still pikon.

Four more months and he’s two, everyday we are suprised on his new developments and on the things he learns and tries to do, so quickly. Looking forward on his next as-his-tita’s-called-it talent!
